This event was held in a massive warehouse which could've fit about 10,000 people, but I think there were about 4,000 there. Everyone was dancing and Todd Terry just blew the place up when he came on around 3am if I remember correctly. The space was just amazing though, the washrooms were huge, they had running water (and showers!) and plenty of room to go chill out. Sorry to J.H. who I had to drill with a full water bottle so he could wake up, and the chick who was wearing nothing but body paint! The star of the show had to be Todd Terry, the Lisa Marie Experience came on at like 7am but by then a lot of people were cleared out and security was trying to empty the space.

- FREAKS OF FUNK - November 1, 1997 - ([email protected])
Held at the Guvernment/Warehouse, this party was pretty good. I think the only reason I went was because I heard Anne Savage was wicked and I wanted to see what she looked like, but I did not wind up catching her set. I spent most of the night burning out because I did an E way too soon and didn't have any more. Props to P.K. and K.H. who kept the night bearable. The star was Paul Walker in the Orange room who managed to get some movement out of me and what seemed like 10 other people in there.

- GETDOWN - December 31, 1997 - ([email protected])
This one was at the huge International Center and Pearson International Airport, they space was big but it was almost too big because even with all the people, it looked pretty empty. Anyways, the party was good, the drinks were expensive, the food was gross, the cops were very intimidating but cool with everyone. I was pretty bummed out the whole night because I wanted to go the Kind party but no one else did. All in all everyone had a good time. Props to S.D. for coming out and chilling with the old crew. DJ of the night had to be Freaky Flow who got the jungle massive stomping. MC Flipside: please do not sing Black Sheep ever again... ever.

This was at the Warehouse/Guvernment. Straight up, expectations were high for the return of Bad Boy Bill (who was alright) and of course the overhyped Sasha. There were a lot of people (of course) and the lineup for the washroom was disgusting (1 hour wait at least). The vibe was pretty good but we didn't find out Sasha ditched until we asked the promoters what time he was on. Props to J.F. and P.K. who showed up in the morning, sort of. DJ of the night was Richard Humpty Vision, I was told he played his own dubplates all night.
